Doing sport between the Baltic, the beach and the Warnow
You can practice sailing, rowing, windsurfing, kitesurfing or stand-up-paddling in Warnemünde on the Baltic or in Rostock city port on the river Warnow, depending on which sport you want to do. If you want to, you can look for the famous Warnemünde ferry wave, which is regularly caused by various ferries coming in and encourages surfing.
In addition to this large area for sailing and surfing, Rostock also has just under 70 sports halls and 3 swimming pools for your activities and active holiday back inland. This ranges from F.C. Hansa Rostock’s Ostseestadion to the OSPA Arena, Rostock’s Stadthalle and classic club sports halls. There are also tennis courts, riding schools and the golf course in Warnemünde. For recreational cyclists and club cyclists, for example, the Berlin-Copenhagen European cycle route and the extended cycle path network in the Rostock Heath coastal forest are right on the doorstep.
