Hanse Sail

The Hanse Sail Rostock is among the world’s largest gatherings of traditional sailing and museum ships. The maritime folk festival has been held on the second weekend in August since 1991. About 200 ships gather together with cruise liners, ferries and naval ships to provide a lively maritime world exhibition.

A highlight event for a majority of visitors is to experience sailing first-hand on one of the traditional seafaring ships. But the old time sailing vessels can also be admired from the edges of quays or from an open ship. Colourful activity with market stands, fairground rides and numerous stages prevails on land. Forums, conferences and exhibitions also accompany Hanse Sail. Show presentations and the popular fireworks on Saturday evening complete the spectacle. Hanse Sail Rostock counts about one million visitors every year.

The 33rd edition of Hanse Sail will take place from the 8th to 11th of August 2024.
