In medieval times Rostock – along with Lübeck and Wismar – was one of the most important Hanseatic towns. Red brick architecture was the typical style of this time and brick buildings are still part of today’s silhouette of Rostock. You will encounter evidence of the architecture, then and now, and find out more about the city‘s history and the importance of the urban community of the Hanseatic League.
