Shop opening hours & Sunday sales

In the largest and most important city of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania, even shopping is a treat. From Doberaner Platz to the New Market, from the university square to the city port, unmistakeable pedestrian zones have arisen. Kröpeliner Straße (Kröpi for short) is the most important street in the pedestrian zone. In Rostock, it is worth looking to the left and right of the big streets too, and discovering many small shops in storage facilities, lovingly restored town houses and generous shopping arcades. Insider tips include a chocolate shop in the city port, and the diverse pub landscape of the Kröpeliner-Tor suburb. The scene quarter, where many students live, entices you with little, cheeky offers.

In Warnemünde you can go shopping almost every Sunday. Strolling along the Alter Strom, on the promenade and around the church square, is a pleasure for all the senses. The fish market on the Mittelmole (central mole) attracts people daily, with freshly caught fish, straight from the cutter, and aromatic smoked products.

With the new seaside resort regulation (valid from January 2016), the shops in the Rostock districts of Warnemünde, Diedrichshagen and Markgrafenheide also have the opportunity to open on Sunday between 12.00 and 18.00. This excludes official public holidays.

Shop opening times:
As a rule, the shops are open on the following days:
