The string of peninsulas along the Baltic Sea coastline, towards the east of Rostock, captivates with its original nature and picturesque locations. The headland between the Baltic Sea and the bodden can offer nature fans almost everything. Pristine forest, marshlands, back country, cliffs, and sandy and natural beaches.
The eastern part of the Zingst peninsula and the middle of Darss belong to the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft Natural Park. In the Baltic Sea resort of Ahrenshoop, Paul Müller-Kaempff founded the famous artists’ colony in 1892. Tip: The Natureum and the view from the lighthouse in Darß (35 metres high, built in 1848).
